Reverse age markers with oxygen

Healthy lifestyle with hyperbaric oxygen

Hyperbaric oxygen is recognized as a powerful neuroprotective therapy for preservation of heart function and brain activity both of which are very sensitive to fluctuations in oxygen supply as we age. Increased oxygen delivery stimulates the growth of new micro circulation, vasculogenesis, the tiny blood vessels feeding all organs. Improved blood flow will allow for better metabolism and neuro-genesis, the growth of new more resilient neural tissue. In the brain, neurogenesis can results in formation of new connections boosting cognitive function, memory, and executive function, all very important in maintaining a healthy brain and fighting possible onset of dementia.

In addition to 'feeling well and looking better', Dr. Shai Efrati and his colleagues has given us  clinical proof that with HBOT acts on cellular and molecular level to promote elongation of telomeres, the ends of the chromosomes, which is regarded as a marker for the aging process.

"Today telomere shortening is considered the 'Holy Grail' of the biology of aging," Professor Efrati says. "Researchers around the world are trying to develop pharmacological and environmental interventions that enable telomere elongation. Our HBOT protocol was able to achieve this, proving that the aging process can in fact be reversed at the basic cellular-molecular level."

Adding extra oxygen through hyperbaric oxygen therapy is especially important in fighting chronic inflammation and neurodegeneration. Hyperbaric oxygen is recognized as a powerful neuroprotective therapy for preservation of heart function and brain activity which are both very sensitive to fluctuations in oxygen supply. Increased oxygen delivery stimulates the growth of new blood capillaries and the growth of new neural tissue and connections in the brain to preserve or possibly improve heart activity, mental health and executive functions.

ANTI-AGING & OXYGEN

Recent research suggests hyperbaric oxygen therapy can be effective in promoting cognitive performance and reverse markers of cellular aging

Reverse markers of aging: Preserving the heart, brain, and skin

Many illnesses connected with aging can be avoided or slowed down through optimal cell health which is maintained with proper oxygenation. Studies show that oxygen levels in arterial blood in a 70-year old are 20% lower than in  30- to 50-year old. Even slight but chronic lack of oxygen, combined with increased stress, poor circulation, low immune system can cause progressive cell death, resulting in organ malfunction.

Beauty care with hyperbaric oxygen

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy for aesthetic means is a relatively new application.  A few studies have focused specifically on the reductions of wrinkles with suggested positive outcomes.  Many dermatology clinics and spas have utilized machines that deliver concentrated oxygen to the client to alleviate age-related skin problems.  The use of supplementary oxygen in skin care is aimed at facilitating collagen synthesis to combat wrinkle formation cause by sun exposure and photo aging. Some studies listed below show that the use of oxygen therapy before UV exposure decreases the wrinkle appearance.
